In previous posts, we went through some of the main features on this battery booster, but now we wanted to cover some other less known (but not less important) functionalities that you’ll find in your JNC660. These additional features that we’re going to reveal are not related to any kind of unintended usage of the unit that might put the included 1-year limited warranty at risk, but rather some of the less known functionalities available to the user, and that might just make a difference when it comes to the final buying choice.
Battery Booster | Repair Service Coupon
The manufacturer included one excellent extra to the package. Every JNC660 battery booster comes with a ‘Repair Service Coupon’ for a one-time replacement unit. If (for ANY reason) this unit stops working during its lifetime, you the battery booster back to the company with the coupon (along with $50 fixed cost) and they will repair or replace it, no questions asked. And this extra is valid even after the included 1-year limited warranty has expired. Not a bad deal!
Battery Booster | Jump Starter Recharging
The JNC660 battery booster comes equipped with some cool features that helps the user get the most out of his jump starter unit – every time. One of these features is related to the battery charge and recharge. If you’re not certain that your battery booster is capable of delivering all of it’s power when you need it, then you’re probably in for a unpleasant surprise – sooner or later.
The JNC660 comes with a simple, yet very useful, front panel with a battery charge gauge . To display the unit’s battery status, you simply need to press and hold the red test button on the gauge, and check the readings.
- The Green area indicates the unit is capable of jump starting.
- The Yellow area indicates the unit needs to be recharged.
- The Red area indicates the unit must be recharged immediately.
The same gauge on the battery booster also allows for a quick check of the vehicle’s charging system by depressing the red test button while still connected to a running vehicle and observing the gauge. Great little features!
Battery Booster | 12 Volt DC Power
Your Jump-N-Carry battery booster is an essential tool for all who replace automobile batteries. Most modern cars have electronic components with memory, like alarm systems, onboard computers, radios, phones, etc… When the vehicle’s battery is replaced, the memory is usually lost. However, this may not be true in the case of this JNC660 jump starter. If the male-male extension cord is connected from the battery booster to a 12 volt outlet on the vehicle, the memories can actually be saved.
Another very useful feature is that the JNC660 battery booster is also a portable power source that can be used with all 12 Volt DC accessories, as long as they’re equipped with a male 12 Volt plug. The DC outlet on the Jump-N-Carry has automatic overload protection which ensures that the plugged in appliance doesn’t burn out. In the case you use your Jump-N-Carry with a DC to AC power inverter, it can operate appliances normally powered by 120 Vac or 220 Vac. In these cases, the recommended inverter for the portable power source is 400 watts maximum.
